Tony Waters
studied at Hornsey College of Arts and Crafts for four years before joining G and B Arts as a commercial artist. He often
worked alongside the songwriter and artist Lionel Bart on poster designs, eventually becoming the manager of the company.
During
the 1960's he was asked to join Kelpra Studios working on the then comparatively new technique of screen printing of
Fine Art Limited Editions. He worked with artists such as Victor Passmore, Sidney Nolan, Joe Tilson, Frank Auerbach, Edouard
Polizzi and R.B. Kitai.
Having
developed his techniques and armed with a great deal of experience, he left to start his own printing company producing point
of sale art and limited edition prints.
He has
continued to paint for his own pleasure throughout his life.
Tony is
a lively prolific painter who always has a number of things 'on the go' at the same time. He can often
be found at the gallery discussing his latest project with gallery owner William Sherwin.
