Although Marion
originally trained as a musician and worked as a Primary School Teacher, in the late 80's
and early 90's she studied with Phillip Holmes of the Open College of Art and Julia Wroughton on the Isle of Mull in Scotland
and so began her art career.
She developed a special
fascination for the effects of colour, the quality of brush marks and juxtaposition of shape and line, much like members
of the Fauve Group and later the Expressionists.
Marion works in a variety of mediums but particularly enjoys
using acrylics or oils. She enjoys the challenge of portrait painting, still life and outdoor subjects.
She lives in Essex, where she is a member of several
art clubs and teaches art locally.
